Lassi

Lassi is a popular and refreshing yogurt-based drink from the Indian subcontinent. It can be made in various flavors such as mango, strawberry, rose, or plain. Here’s a simple recipe for making a classic plain lassi:

Ingredients:

1 cup plain yogurt
1/2 cup chilled water
2 tablespoons sugar (adjust to taste)
A pinch of salt
Crushed ice (optional)
Chopped mint leaves for garnish (optional)
Instructions:

In a blender or mixing bowl, add the plain yogurt.
Add the chilled water, sugar, and a pinch of salt to the yogurt.
Blend or whisk the mixture until it becomes smooth and frothy. If using a blender, blend for about 30 seconds.
Taste the lassi and adjust the sweetness or thickness by adding more sugar or water, if desired.
If you prefer a chilled lassi, you can add some crushed ice to the mixture and blend it again briefly.
Pour the lassi into glasses and garnish with chopped mint leaves if desired.
Serve the lassi immediately and enjoy!
Variations:

Mango Lassi: Add 1 ripe mango (peeled and chopped) to the basic lassi recipe and blend until smooth.
Strawberry Lassi: Add 1 cup of fresh or frozen strawberries (chopped) to the basic lassi recipe and blend until smooth.
Rose Lassi: Add 1 tablespoon of rose water and a few drops of rose syrup to the basic lassi recipe and blend until well combined.
Feel free to experiment with different flavors and adjust the sweetness according to your taste. Lassi is a versatile drink that can be enjoyed on its own or as a refreshing accompaniment to spicy Indian dishes.
